The Benefits of Working with a Team

There is a famous quote that says there is no "I" in "team." That quote explains the benefit of working with a team to achieve a goal versus doing it alone. Of course it is a fact that individuals can achieve goals by themselves, but there are multiple benefits that come with working with the team or in a group. Some of the ways one can benefit from working with a group are brainstorming sessions, task delegation, and peer support. Major marketing companies seek to have a team working on campaigns versus one individual coming up with all the ideas. It is always more beneficial to have a group brainstorming on ideas versus one person coming up with all the ideas. Brainstorming as a group will increase creative ideas and bring different perspectives to the conversation. Another benefit from working with the team is task delegation. Breaking up a project and deferring out tasks to multiple people can save time and increase productivity. It is always easier to tackle a big project with a team helping complete tasks. In addition, peer support is another key benefit from working in a group setting. It can help encourage others, keep the group focused, and help execute tasks through training others. Encouragement and support from a group can keep the momentum going and help others stay on task. Even in a fun setting, you can benefit from working with a group, such as in an escape room. Sometimes those puzzle games are difficult enough with four or five people. Trying to imagine doing an escape room alone seems overwhelming, not fun. In conclusion, working in a group has multiple benefits, whether it be educationally, enjoying friends, or as part of a job for work.
